My work in oil and cold wax is rooted in the California landscape. I’m drawn to the tactile quality of the medium—scraping, carving, and etching into the surface to build layered, rhythmic patterns. In this series, I look at patterns that repeat in nature—hills, salt ponds, shifting fog—and how they echo across places and cultures. I’m interested in how these patterns can slow us down, draw us in, and create space for the mind to wander through a landscape rather than just observe it. Enjoy the art!
